Best Beaches to visit in Vancouver
Vancouver is blessed with an array of Mother Nature’s gifts. You will see mountains lying on the north and west horizon. You will see green and lush forests everywhere. Despite all this, many people argue that the city’s exceptional natural site is its beaches. And guess what, we can’t even deny it. Vancouver is a place filled with stunning beaches at different locations. And let’s face it; no trip to Vancouver is finished if you haven’t visited the beach.
A trip to a beach can be active, involving swimming, or walking alongside the seaside trail. While some people simply find a bench and spend their time looking at boats sailing away or maybe sunbathing.
Kitsilano Beach
Also known as “Kits Beach,” It is located across the neighborhood of Kitsilano, downtown Vancouver. The beach includes everything that the Kitsilano neighborhood has to offer. The best thing about this beach is that it can be enjoyed at any time of the year. If you get tired and hungry after severe activities at the beach, you can head over to Au Comptoir—one of the most excellent restaurants at Kitsilano beach. You will find shops pretty much some feet away from the beach. The place does provide a unique opportunity to enjoy the seaside as well as the coolest neighborhoods in Vancouver. This beach does get very busy, especially in the summer, so remember to take your junk with you so the beach remains pristine for others to enjoy.
English Bay Beach
Stanley Park, on the one side and the city’s hassle and a busy road on the other, English Bay Beach, offers an oceanside sanctuary in downtown Vancouver. The beach is lively and active with lots of boats to watch, swim, and have sunbath. If you are staying downtown, the beach is most comfortable to access with foot, bike, or public transport. In the summer, you will find all of the downtown people at the beach. It is virtually impossible to find a place to spread your sunbathing mat.
Second Beach
If you seek a family beach that can offer little something for everyone, Second Beach will be the best match for you. The beach is surrounded by trees and also can be seen from the Burrard inlet. Moreover, kids will love Second Beach. There are plenty of reasons why Second Beach draws kids’ attention. It offers a great seaside to build sandcastles, the heated outdoor pool, and its two slides, pretty much everything for kids.
Wreck Beach
Wreck Beach is a slightly different beach from others on this list. Firstly the beach is not easier to find, although when you do, you will feel that you have discovered new territory. Secondly, it is the only clothing-optional beach in Vancouver. It has a unique bohemian vibe that attracts hippies and crowds like that. The rugged shorelines make this beach a little wider than any other beach in the city. While at the beach, a walk at the coastline is a must-do. The beach is more extensive for quite a long distance and offers plenty to gaze at, from abandoned towers from WWII to regional flora and fauna.
