Old Electronics with High Monetary Value

Every time a new, updated version of an electronic gadget is being introduced, many of us easily become enticed and magnetized in what these new gadgets have to offer.

However, not everyone buys the newest electronics just to join the trend because sadly, not all electronic gadgets were built to last a lifetime. Millions of electronic devices have a short life expectancy that you are left with no other choice but to throw them out or send them to BC electronics recycling depots.

Whether you are planning to replace your old gadget to enjoy the benefits of a state of the art device or wanting to purchase a new gadget and get rid of a broken one, there’s a big possibility that old or broken electronics might just end up in landfills if you have not sent it to any BC electronics recycling stations to be recycled.

But, if you have really old electronic items lying around, don’t be so quick to get rid of them. You’d be surprised to find out that there are some electronic devices that are worth a fortune.

For example, old models of Apple computers are not only rare but could be highly valuable as well:

Apple I is one of the rarest vintage Apple computers out there – however, it is extremely rare that only more than 500 units were sold – and out of these units, only six are known to be working up to now. You can auction Apple I computers at more than a hundred thousand dollars.

If you own an original Apple Macintosh personal computer, also known as the Macintosh 128K, that is in good working condition, you could earn at least a couple of thousand dollars for it.

For other versions of Macintosh computers such as Macintosh Plus, you can sell it for more than $600 if it is fully functional.

Vintage personal computers aren’t the only electronic devices you can get good money from. One of the earliest kinds of telephones, the ones that are made from Bakelite materials, can be sold online for more than a hundred bucks.

Old, working calculators can give you an easy $50, while an old Sony Walkman can earn you more than $100.

Not only that, if you were into computer games as a child, old video game consoles and game cartridges can be sold on eBay. Vintage gaming consoles have a price range of $40 to $150, while game cartridges in excellent condition could be priced at more than $250.

If you have any vintage electronics that are still operative – you may want to sell or auction them off. Many buyers collect these vintage items so you can have peace of mind that they would be treated well, too.

The rarer and the older your electronic items are, the bigger amount of cash you can earn. So next time you stumble upon an old electronic device in your household, better think twice before throwing them out.
